  1. “Sorry boss I have a job interview Monday”

When I still worked for other people it was so much fun watching management try to understand/deal with my passive aggressive return serves.

You fuck with me and I’ll break out the lube and fuck you properly, no break in eye contact.

  2. I really believe your comics have helped me become a better manager.

Not that I’ve ever done it, but you never know. In these comics, I can see some of my own flaws.

  3. I frequently assume that since my employer is paying more than I am, they are the ones who have to work late and on weekends. If we’re both doing it, I don’t mind as much, but I don’t like the onus being on me to compromise my free time so they don’t have to.

  4. What if you laugh at them and say, “Good joke, sir!” and then don’t do it? Unless I’m paid overtime to work on it, it’s not going to happen. My time is valuable, and I expect to be compensated for it.

  5. To be honest, it must be good to have office worker issues. That would be preferable to the cripplingly stiff pain in my lower back and knees caused by the plumbing.

  6. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to have it ready by Monday morning because it’s now Friday evening.” But that’s a European answer, so I’m not sure if it applies.

  7. When I consider the current condition of the working class, I am reminded of the tale of the three prostitutes. That is why labour unions are regarded as far superior to unions in other industries.

  8. I’ve always been curious about what it’s like to work a job where you go home after 8 hours and are really done for the day. Or where you can take a week off when you’re sick, and when you return, you’ll be able to pick up where you left off without having a mountain of work to deal with.

  9. Not that this is the case for everybody, but there are a lot of jobs where you have to learn to manage your own free time.

The company will request more just to see if you can provide it, but there are usually no repercussions for saying “sorry, I don’t think I’ll be able to get that ready until Tuesday” or whatever.

  10. Anyone’s attitude toward work will never be tolerated by me. I work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and earn $250,000. I can not respond to emails or phone calls on my time, and I don’t understand why anyone would. Men, work to live, not live to work!
