  1. Because they know other firms will, my company is offering hybrid and WFH choices. If your boss refuses, start looking for a new work because companies that require you to be in the office will have a high turnover rate.

  2. During COVID, I worked a lot from home and didn’t get much done. There are simply too many distractions, and I don’t have a home office to shield myself from them. I also enjoy being in the company of my coworkers.

  3. That’s a LOT of efficiency. Perhaps a “work from home taxe” will develop sometime to compensate for the loss of side income when an office closes.

  4. My COO made it mandatory to return to work… most are considering quitting because the commute and traffic are exhausting, and we spend more time commuting than working.

  5. For the time being, we’re taking a hybrid approach. As much as I’d want to work from home 100 percent of the time, I can understand the benefits of being in the office 30 to 50% of the time for physical interactions with the team.

However, the cynic in me believes that in the next 5 years, we’ll all be back to 100% when higher management figures out how to prove that it’s not working.

  6. Working from home was obviously more efficient for us, given that a large number of individuals were laid off and the remaining employees were forced to split the workload.

  7. At the very least, I felt like I could leave work at work when I went home for the day when I walked into the office. Now I feel like I’m basically living in the office, and my work stress follows me home from work.

  8. I sincerely hope that businesses will be wise, or that people will be forced to work from home.

I despise open floor plans and dislike cubicles. What are they good for? All you have to do is put on noise-cancelling headphones all day.

  9. It’s tough to learn soft skills in your industry if you only connect with others when absolutely necessary. Working from home full-time would limit the opportunities for less experienced professionals, thus younger individuals are more likely to return to the workplace. Instead of cubicles, they’d prefer the office to be a more collaborative environment.

  10. My cousin works for one of the country’s largest health insurance businesses. They forced their employees to return to work in the workplace before the first vaccines were distributed and while the office was being renovated. The level of stupidity is just staggering.

  11. Is it just me, or has working from home made me less productive? When I’m not at the office, it’s impossible for me to concentrate. Despite working till 9 or 10 p.m. on a regular basis, I’m getting significantly less work done.
